A Child's Library...

Today we started work on crafting some custom built-ins for a child's bedroom. The cases will wrap around the room and have to match existing cases and mouldings in the home. These particular cases will be painted in to match existing bookcases so they are being built from quality poplar and birch. Below Ava is helping Tom with some assembly.

The set in process....
This week we are finishing up some fabrication for Speakeasy Stage Co.'s production of Adding Machine: A Musical. Directed by Paul Melone, and designed by Susan Zeeman Rogers.
Looking back over the past four years, we have built well over a dozen productions at Boston's acclaimed Speakeasy. Below is a sampling of some of these. Take a look:
(And thankyou Speakeasy for all your business!!!!!)

A Preview of Things to Come....(and a couple 1st's)

Here is a photo(an apertif via cel phone, if you will) of the set for The Complete Works, happening at Northampton's Academy of Music this weekend. New City Scenic designed and built a rake for this very traditional, historic space and it's getting a lot of people excited about seeing this show. It is the 1st rake in this house that we know of!- or, perhaps, just in our lifetimes??? Nonetheless, the rake definitely works well in this space.
{This past December, New City also replaced the long defunct stage trap- created for Houdini!- with a new working trap.}

Go see it!:
